A short biography of Edmund Jolliffe

Edmund's music has been performed all over the world and in many prestigious UK venues, including the Wigmore Hall, St. John's Smith Square, the Purcell Room, the Old Vic Theatre, Westminster Abbey and St Paul's Cathedral.

Born in 1976, he studied music at Oxford University (1994-1997) and completed a Masters in Film Composition at the Royal College of Music (1998-1999) under Joseph Horovitz. He also studied on the Advanced Composition Course at Dartington International Summer School under Pavel Novak in 2004 (supported by the Ralph Vaughan Williams Trust) and completed a PGCE in Secondary Music at the Institute of Education in 2005.

He has written television music for all the terrestrial channels and many of the Satellite Channels (including Sky One, Discovery and America's ABC Channel). His music for the Imagine programme 'Fantastic Mr Dahl' is now an added extra on the DVD to Tim Burton's 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'.

Performers of his music include Nicholas Cleobury, David Campbell, Darragh Morgan, John Rutter, Frances-Marie Uitti, David Titterington, James Bowman, the Micallef-Inanga Piano Duo, Rarescale, The Royal College of Music Saxophones, Trinity College of Music Wind Orchestra, Ensemble 10/10 (of the RPO), Sounds New, Kensington Chamber Orchestra and the Chapel Royal of St. James' Palace, amongst others. His music is published (by OUP) and released on CD by various ensembles.

As well as composing, Edmund is also a composition tutor at Trinity College of Music and teaches at Westminster Under School (where he is assistant director of music).
